Fun Sized!

Ok so lately I've been meaning to do an outfit post or a collective haul of all the things that I've been gathering but honestly I just haven't had the time to break out my camera and take pictures of everything. But it will come soon!

Anyways I was perusing Instagram and I saw a photo that modcloth.com posted about listening to what plus sized women were saying about clothing being inconsistent sizes (and more) and that Modcloth was trying to do more to cater to the sizes of these women, which in my opinion is great! Women of all shapes and sizes deserve to feel good in what they're wearing and not to mention their own skin. Of course there have to be some negative Nancy(s) on the photo, but the one that struck me was a girl who was saying that Modcloth should keep the sizes that they have and women will want to lose weight to fit in their clothing. She said basically said fitting into Modcloth's clothing would be an incentive for women to lose weight. Well that's a nice thought but it's seriously arrogant to believe that fitting into certain clothes will make these women want to lose weight. It just drives me insane to think that there are really people out there that think chubby people just stuff their faces all day and are so unhealthy. And it drives me even more crazy that these people do not understand that not everyone fits into society's image of being beautiful. I know women who do not even care to lose weight at all even if they are considered plus sized. Some of the most beautiful women and models I have ever seen are full figured women. It's a shame that society, the media, and Hollywood have fooled us into thinking that there is an appropriate size for everyone.

I myself have struggled with my image regarding to weight. When I had my son I gained 60 pound easily. I didn't feel the same as before I got pregnant, I wasn't confident in my image. Honestly I was stressing over my weight. Now I don't even look at the scale. I'm very confident today because inside I know that I'm not a bad looking lady! I love myself even if I am a little chubby. Even if I will never fit into a size 4 again. Even if I have stretch marks. I'm a woman and I have a beautiful son to show for it, so in my opinion it's all worth it.

So basically this is me telling you, hey you shouldn't give a crap what anyone says about your image! If you're happy being you then be happy and don't let anyone bring you down or make you feel like you should change. We spend too much time worrying about what others do in a negative way when we should be uplifting each other as women. We're all fun sized!

This is my feminist two cents. Hope you all have a great weekend!

Introductions Are in Order!

Why helloooo there! My name is Mariah and I'm a 21 year old full time mother/ full time college student/ part time crafter/ slave to the wage! Kidding about the slaving, I don't work very much as of late. My goal in creating this blog is to sort of find my inner... Hmmm what's the word... Well I suppose there are a lot of things I need to find out about myself. Inner self, inner style, inner beauty and more. In all honesty, I just want to write more. I have too many thoughts, exciting finds, and interests to just keep them all to myself, so I thought I'd share them with you all, or as we say in Texas Y'ALL. I digress, but anyhow I hope you'll like my blog and subscribe, leave comments, enjoy hearing about the stuff I find as I constantly thrift, etc.

Thanks for reading and have a great Monday!
